Cadence Bank Is Newest AHSAA Corporate Spornsor

Steve Savarese, Executive Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Association, announced today that Cadence Bank is its newest AHSAA corporate sponsor with a commitment that extends through 2015.

“I am very excited about this new affiliation,” Savarese said. “Cadence Bank will no doubt provide enormous support for the AHSAA championship events and our member schools. We appreciate the long-term investment made by Cadence Bank and what this means for all our member schools.  I also want to thank our marketing partner, the Alabama Sports Foundation (ASF), for its important role in managing our corporate partner program.”

With this arrangement, Cadence Bank will serve as the official bank of the AHSAA.

“Athletics plays an important role in the overall development and educational experiences of youth here in Alabama,” said Sam Tortorici, CEO of Cadence Bank.  “Sports help to instill solid values and lifelong lessons that we feel are vital to these children, and we are pleased to join with the Alabama Sports Foundation and Alabama High School Athletic Association in reaching thousands of student-athletes across the state.  We take our commitment to the communities we serve very seriously and recognize that children are the future of Alabama.”

The AHSAA serves 409 member high schools and more than 300 member junior high/middle schools through its mission of regulating interscholastic athletic competition and promoting interscholastic athletics as a vital part of the educational experience. Since 1921, the AHSAA has provided much more than athletics to thousands of student-athletes throughout Alabama. Student-athletes from every imaginable background have experienced priceless life lessons through the mentoring of dedicated teachers and coaches.

The AHSAA hosts 22 high school state championship events, including the Super 6 Football Championships, which rotates between Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, and the girls’ and boys’ Final 48 State Basketball Championships in Birmingham.

Cadence Bank is directly supporting the children, schools and communities of Alabama through the AHSAA’s revenue sharing program. Over the last three years, $3.6 million in corporate support has been returned to AHSAA member schools through this program. For its distinguished past and promising future, the AHSAA owes much to the commitment and loyalty of generous friends like Cadence Bank.
