Central Board Denies Appeal By Foley High School


     The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Central Board of Control denied an eligibility appeal made by Foley High School concerning the eight-semester rule. The student in question is in his/her fourth year in high school.
     The Central Board approved a request for membership from Cornerstone School, a middle school in Birmingham, and also heard an update from C2C School's Robert Gomes about the second phase of the AHSAA's newly-designed software program.
 
     In other Board action:

·         Approved the projected expenses for the 2012 Super 6 football championships scheduled at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium Dec. 6-7.

·         Heard an update about the upcoming Super 6 event from the Alabama Sports Foundation.

·         Heard an update from AHSAA Assistant Director Denise Ainsworth regarding the implementation progress of the Strategic Plan approved last school year.

·         Approved the AHSAA’s plan to become a member of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.
