Louisville Slugger oneX Softball Bats Not Approved

All softball teams at AHSAA member schools should immediately discontinue use of Louisville Slugger oneX softball bats with the model numbers FP136, FP1369 and FP1368.

The bats have been recalled by Louisville Slugger due to a manufacturing issue that has compromised the durability of the bat which could cause cracking between the barrel and handle. In extreme cases, the manufacturing defect has resulted in a complete fracture between the handle and barrel. The entire current line of oneX bats is being recalled.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) follows bat safety standards established by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and the Louisville Slugger oneX bats have been removed from the ASA’s approved bat list.

Louisville Slugger will replace the recalled bats with 2013 Xeno bats and will discuss options with each customer to satisfy the price difference between the oneX and the Xeno replacement bat. You may contact the customer service department 1-800-282-2287 to discuss this recall further.

Please notify the players on your team of the oneX bat recall so that anyone who has purchased one of the oneX bats may use the bat exchange program.
