Richardson Ties Dickinson In Career Volleyball Wins;
Both In Second Place Behind Former Walker Great Glenda Wright

Poor play by St. Luke’s volleyball team during a match in the season-opening Juanita Boddie Tournament in Birmingham prompted first-year head coach Tammy Richardson to call for a time out.

Normally a stern taskmaster with a fiery coaching style, Richardson instead turned the situation into a teaching moment. She calmly explained the problems and encouraged the Wildcats.

Richardson’s uncompromising dedication to detail and competitive drive create an atmosphere conducive to winning and player loyalty. The combination has Richardson on the verge of breaking the volleyball coaching record of legendary McGill-Toolen coach Becky Dickinson.

With Tuesday’s win over the Alabama School of Math and Science, Richardson tied Dickinson with 1,273 wins.  To read more about this Hall of Fame coach’s milestone victory, click here.
