CLASS 2A FINALS
Game 2: Hatton 2, Ider 1 (8 innings)
Hatton: Hatton wins first state title in fast-pitch (won slow-pitch titles in 1992, 1993 and 1996); After drawing a lead-off walk in the eighth, Jessica Speake scored from third base on an RBI fielder’s choice by Caitlin Martin to give HHS the lead for good. Hillary Carpenter was 2-for-3 with two singles.
            Winning Pitcher: Hillary Carpenter (seven hits, two strikeouts in eight innings)
 
Ider (41-23): Kristen Daniels was 2-for-3; Jessie McDaniel was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Ardmore (51-18-1): Wins first state championship in fast pitch (won 1998 and 1993 slow
            pitch titles in Class 3A); After ACA rallied to tie the game with four runs in the top of the
            seventh, a base hit by Brittany Brown scored pinch runner Sydney Randall from third
            base; Callie Bryant was 2-for-3; Katie Shelton was 2-for-4.
            Winning Pitcher: Kelsey Gilbert (Scattered six hits with three strikeouts).
 
Alabama Christian (40-18): Taylor Mills was 3-for-4 with two singles and a double; Emily Davis was 2-for-4 with two singles

Ragland: First state championship since 2004; Emily Church opened the scoring with a two-RBI double in the first inning. Brittany Johns led off the second with a single and was later driven home on a ground out by Madison Oliver.
