The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will join in the festivities at the All-Star Sports Week and sponsor a luncheon Friday, July 18, at 12:15 p.m., according to an announcement by Steve Bailey, Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA) that coordinates the event.
The 12th annual event is scheduled July 14-18 at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville.
The luncheon will be held at the Scrubbs Community Center, located within walking distance of the Von Braun Civic Center on the street running between the Holiday Inn and the Embassy Suites. No reservations are necessary.
“No reservations are necessary,” Bailey said. “Come join us for food and fellowship.”
Sports Week, which includes in-state all-star games in volleyball, baseball, girls and boys basketball, softball, soccer and football, will feature clinic and special sessions for coaches, principals, athletic directors, cheerleader coaches and officials. An All-Sports Equipment Expo and other related activities are scheduled throughout the week.
A highlight of this year’s event will be a Sportsmanship Banquet honoring all schools that have not had an ejection or fine during the 2007-08 school year.
The AHSADCA operates under the auspices of the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Membership includes coaches of all AHSAA sports as well as administrators of member schools.
